We've been busy at the dojo. As a second kyu, I've been responsible for teaching kids' class along with our Sensei, two shodan, a first kyu, and two second kyu students. The first kyu was a second until about a week ago. Anyway, I've enjoyed it mostly because my younger daughter has been a student since day one of the kids' classes. She is phenomenal. Even Sensei is impressed with how she is doing for a ten year old. One Saturday she had three adults surrounding her, including me, and she was doing jiyu waza, and doing pretty well, too. Yes, I've taught her a few techniques beyond children's class, but she has great instincts.
After class on Saturdays Sensei says to her, "Ready to work?" And off the two go for twenty minutes, just the two of them. I told her that these are the times she'll look back on fondly.
School is going well; I have a good class.
